Buckingham Palace announced today that Queen Elizabeth has passed away at 96. She had been placed under medical supervision due to concerns about her health. Her son, Prince Charles, was present with her at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, and the rest of the Royal Family is expected to arrive shortly.

🍿 Bernard Shaw Passes Away

CNN's 1st chief anchor, Bernard Shaw, has passed away at 82. The former Marine joined CNN in 1980 after working as a reporter with CBS and ABC News. Shaw was a pioneering Black journalist who was famous for his nerves of steel, reporting from Iraq during the Gulf War and covering protests in China's Tiananmen Square.

Threat intelligence company Cisco Talos linked the new hacking campaign targeting several U.S. and Canada-based energy companies to the North Korean-sponsored hacking group Lazarus. The group has been targeting U.S. energy providers since February this year and has tried to establish long-term access to the energy providers' systems. The group has also recently targeted blockchain and cryptocurrency organizations, stealing $100 million from Harmony and $625 million from Ronin Network.

The mayor of Washington D.C., Muriel Bowser, declared a public emergency over busloads of immigrants being sent by Texas and Arizona to the nation's capital.

The launch will send a spacecraft called Orion and science experiments out past the moon.

At a conference with Vox Media, Apple CEO Tim Cook hinted that Android or Google pixel users should probably just buy an iPhone because Apple is unlikely to adopt the cross-platform messaging platform championed by Google, RCS. Google has been pressuring Apple to adopt RCS so that non-Apple users can escape the dreaded green text bubble with an ad campaign, but it doesn't seem to be working.
